Explore the Thrill of Sailing: Weymouth Sailing Club Announces Open Day

Weymouth Sailing Club (WSC) is opening its doors on SATURDAY 16th MAY from 10.00AM to 4.00PM and inviting the local community to swap their walking shoes for deck shoes and experience the thrill of life on the water.

Located on the historic Nothe Parade, adjacent to the Lifeboat, our volunteer run club boasts views of the Olympic sailing waters of 2012 and the Jurassic Coast. WSC is more than just a club; it’s a gateway to adventure.

Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned sailor looking for a new home port, our Open Day offers a hands-on introduction to our friendly member-run community club. We are a Not-for-Profit-Charity and cater for those that live in the local area that have a desire to go sailing.

WSC Commodore Mike Street said “We want to show that sailing is accessible to everyone, our open day is about breaking down barriers and letting visitors see Weymouth Bay and beyond from a new perspective”.

On the day we can offer a variety of opportunities. Life jackets provided if going out on the water and it’s always colder on the water so you will need:
– Soft-soled shoes (trainers are fine)
– A windproof jacket
– Ladies should consider trousers
– A warm hat
