Weymouth, UK – Weymouth Sailing Club (WSC) welcomes everyone to discover the joy of sailing at their Open Day on June 8th. From 10 AM to 2 PM, visitors can learn about the club, sail on a variety of boats, and enjoy amenities like a members’ bar and BBQ decking with stunning views across the harbour and bay.

The event offers a day of fun with free coffee and cakes for guests, and the chance to win exciting prizes such as an evening sail around Weymouth Bay for your family.

James Brodrick, a recent club member and event organiser, encourages everyone to participate. “You don’t need to book. But, if you email me at openday@wsc.org.uk with your questions and interests, I can ensure you have a great day and that we have a boat and skipper ready for you.”

WSC is dedicated to making sailing accessible to all, regardless of experience or boat ownership. The club boasts a variety of dinghies and keelboats for member use and is home to a friendly community of skippers eager to train new crew members.

Reflecting on his experiences, recent member James Brown shared, “I joined the club last year with no sailing knowledge and was quickly invited to join a crew on the racing yacht Bon Vacances. The club has been incredibly supportive, helping me earn my RYA Day Skipper, Radio, and First Aid certificates. Joining WSC is about community and passion for sailing, and you don’t need to be experienced or super fit. I highly recommend getting involved.”

WSC is located just past the lifeboat station on the right side of the harbour and no prior booking is required for the Open Day.
