WSC Elects a new Commodore

The Club held its 102nd AGM on Saturday 19th February. Around fifty members braved the end of storm Eunice to attend the meeting. The chair of trustees Rima Bugler confirmed that there were no contested posts for either the Trustee roles or General Committee. The trustees for 2022/3 are Rima Bugler, Berry Scheffler, Phil Ashworth (treasurer),Stuart Riches and Kathy Claydon.

Three new members are to join the General committee consisting of the existing three Rear Commodores, Simon Vines (Sailing), Nick Munson (Moorings and Yard) John Arnold (House), to help with the workload involved in the running of the club. These members are Colin Hall, Simon Kershaw and Tom Rees. In addition Euan McNair is to take over the role of General Secretary.

Our existing Commodore Steve Dadd stood down at the AGM after three challenging years in the role. Steve thanked his volunteer team for all their efforts over the last three years and handed over the Commodore's burgee to our new new Commodore, Tim Day. Tim is a longstanding member and will be recognised by many members for his frequent volunteering in the safety boat and on the race course as part of the crew on Saskia VII.

As a retired Navy Submariner Tim is historically more used to serving below the surface but I am assured he is just as competent above the water.
